In a really disgusting turn of events, approximately 2000 records have been stolen from long-serving community radio announcer Tony Biggs.

Assembled over the course of 40 years in the music business, the collection included rare bootlegs from the Sex Pistols, Bowie and Joy Division, as well as other classics like signed Richard Clapton albums, and a large selection of comedy albums from legends like George Carlin and Don Rickles.

The immense collection of treasured vinyl was being stored in a lock-up garage in Prahran.

Tony has been a mainstay of the Australian music scene throughout much of his career, working on community radio stations 4ZZZ, triple j and 3RRR, and drumming in a host of local outfits.

3RRR implored their fans to keep an eye out for the stolen records.

“It’s a long-shot we know, but if anyone hears of this sort of collection turning up, please let us know. This is fucked.”

That doesn’t even begin to describe it, and we’re feeling gutted for Tony right now. It’s truly awful that someone who has dedicated so much of their life to music could have it stolen away from them. If anyone has any information, please contact 3RRR.
