We haven’t seen US alt-rockers Wilco down under for quite a while, but that hasn’t stopped lead singer Jeff Tweedy from touring the pacific with side project TWEEDY, featuring his son Spencer on drums.

Aside from a slew of Wilco classics, played acoustically teasing the bands upcoming world tour last nights show, at Melbourne’s Recital Hall, held a special surprise for Aussie music fans.

Everybody’s best mate Courtney Barnett jumped on stage during an encore, cracking out a guitar to preform a cover of David Bowie’s ‘Queen Bitch’ along side the Wilco veteran.

Tributes to the music icon have been present at a slew of massive gigs, this being Tweedy’s second Bowie cover for the year after performing ‘Space Oddity’ with Wilco back in Feb.
