We’re well into the new year, the summer is certainly heating up, and we reckon there’s no better way to celebrate the incredible weather and a good start to year than by checking out some of the awesome local bands and artists that are slated to hit the highways in the coming months. Among the most notable are Gang Of Youths, Hellions, Horroshow, Jakubi, Marlon Williams, The Beards, and The Ocean Party, all of whom recently announced dates that are set to kick off soon.
Hellions
With the release of their highly anticipated new album, Indian Summer, just a matter of weeks away, Hellions have announced they are getting back to what they do best and hitting the road for a national headline tour in support the release, which is set to kick off in Brisbane on Friday, 6th March 2015. The band have also promised that West Australian dates will be announced shortly.

2014 was a landmark year for eclectic Melbourne collective Jakubi and it looks as though the best is still yet to come. Having toured across two continents and three countries, including Australia, the US, and Canada, the band have now announced that they are the newest addition to the esteemed Create / Control family. The band also have a new EP titled Holiday to unveil, which slated for release Friday, 23rd January. The release’s debut singles, ‘Can’t Afford It All’ and ‘Holiday’, both reached #1 on Hype Machine charts and the band are celebrating with a new national tour kick off later this month.

Just before everybody broke for the Christmas break, beloved Sydney outfit Gang of Youths were still busy doing what they do best and unveiled their brand new video for single ‘Benevolence Riots’, which has been getting some serious love over at Triple J. The clip came ahead of their East Coast single tour, which is set to kick off later this week at Brisbane’s famous Black Bear Lodge. If you needed any more indication that 2015 is set to be a huge year for Gang of Youths, the band have also just been announced as part of the sold-out lineup for the highly anticipated 2015 instalment of Secret Garden Festival next month.
