A new computer virus is infecting nuclear facilities in Iran with the best possible form of noise terrorism there is: playing AC/DC classic ‘Thunderstruck’ at ear-deafening volume – the way it was intended to be blasted.

According to The Australiana Finnish-based internet security firm named F-Secure have made claims that the computer worm was playing havoc with Iranian nuclear facilities, in a digital attack on their systems to halt the country’s attempts to refine uranium -235.

It seems that whoever developed the computer virus has a devilish sense of humour, and is a big Acca Dacca fan, as part of the programming blasts ‘Thunderstruck’ at maximum volume. F-Secure notes that it first learned of the cyber attack from alert emails sent from the facilities.

“I am writing you to inform you that our nuclear program has once again been compromised,” reads an email from one of the facilities’ scientists, sent to Mikki Hypponen of F-Secure, “[we’ve been] attacked by a new worm with exploits which have shut down our automation network at Natanz and another facility Fordo near Qom. There was also some music playing randomly during the middle of the night with the volume maxed out. I believe it was ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC.”

Hypponen, a renowned virus expert, confirmed that the alert emails were being sent from within the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, but could not confirm if the ‘thunderstruck’ scientists were enjoying their new forced-upon soundtrack or not.

Seems to us that AC/DC’s 1990 hit would be the perfect soundtrack for working on nuclear warheads, devils horns aloft “Nah nah nah naahhhaaahhha. THUNDER!” It certainly has gotten sharks to get worked up in the past. Yep.
