If you ever sat around listening to your music collection just wishing for some sort of collaboration between AFI and No Doubt, as we all did, then your prayers have been answered thanks to Dreamcar, a supergroup formed by members of the two groups.

News of Dreamcar first broke back in May of 2016, when rumours started to swirl that AFI frontman Davey Havok would be taking over for Gwen Stefani as the singer of No Doubt. As it turned out, this wasn’t the case, but rather, Havok was teaming up with No Doubt members Tony Kanal, Tom Dumont, and Adrian Young to form a new supergroup.

As Consequence Of Sound reports, while No Doubt is on a hiatus of sorts, members of the two groups have come together to collaborate on the new-wave project Dreamcar. After having shared the track ‘Kill For Candy’ last month, the group’s newest track ‘Born To Lie’ sounds a lot more like AFI than No Doubt thanks to the vocals, but features a decidedly ’80s vibe that clearly inspired both groups throughout their career.

The group’s self-titled debut record has been announced for release in May, but in the meantime, give ‘Born To Lie’ a spin, it might just grow on you.
