Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album Jagged Little Pill sold over one million albums in Australia. In 1995, the population was 18 million. That’s over 5% of our country who went out and bought this, during an era when CDs cost over $30, and often involved walking into a mall or a record store to get.

Yet, despite this huge fanbase, Morissette hasn’t toured Australia since 1999, when she came out in support of her Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie album. She has finally seen sense, and will be playing two Australian shows next January: Melbourne’s Palais Theatre and the ICC Sydney Theatre.

Both shows are billed as “acoustic and intimate”, and hopefully she’ll announce others, as these quickly sell out.

It’s like ten thousand spoons when you really, really wanted spoons!

Tickets go on sale next Monday, August 7. Dates and ticket details below this hit.
