Tumbleweed were arguably one of the biggest Aussie rock bands of the ’90s. Heck, there’s even the long-standing rumour that seminal music festival Homebake started as a Tumbleweed show before it just got so big they called it a festival. So for a band that are considered such important figures in the history of Aussie music, it’s pretty exciting to see that they have decided to get back together once again, to play their first show in two years in Melbourne this November.

Having formed in Tarrawanna, New South Wales in 1990, Tumbleweed quickly became champions of the emerging Aussie stoner-rock scene, and even managed to find themselves supporting Nirvana on their sole Aussie tour. It was a beautiful time.

Sadly, the group broke up a few times in the late ’90s, and since 2009, gigs from Tumbleweed have been sporadic at best, so it’s a pretty big deal to see the group announce one of their rare headlining shows.

Taking to Facebook today, the group have announced a “one off intimate show” at Melbourne’s Gasometer Hotel on November 10th. Bringing along special guests Hits and Grindhouse, the ‘weed promise that it’s going to be a pretty special affair, so now would be the best time to pull out your best concert-going duds and get yourself ready to witness some Aussie rock royalty bring out the goods once more.
