A slew of Aussies will be headed for the UK this May and they won’t just be looking for bar work. Thanks in part to the efforts of Sounds Australia, a clique of talented Australian artists will be taking the stage to play the UK’s The Great Escape festival, which has a reputation for booking talented young up-and-coming acts.

Among the Aussies announced as part of the event’s recently unveiled, 150-strong initial lineup are J Award-winning rapper Remi, folk duo Pierce Brothers, Melbourne twee poppers Twerps, ghost folk trio Little May, Adelaide natives Bad//Dreems, genre-bending collective Saskwatch, psych-soul masters Rolls Bayce, Melbourne electronic wiz Banoffee, and more
.

Readers can check out the full list of 150 acts that make up The Great Escape 2015’s first lineup announcement below. It includes a few prominent heavyweights, like Alabama Shakes and Thurston Moore Band, as well as Django Django, The Bohicas, and Ibeyi. If 150 awesome acts isn’t enough for you, there’s still plenty more to be announced, so stay tuned.

The Great Escape, which is now in its 10th year showcasing the world’s best up-and-coming musical talent, is set to descend on Brighton, UK this May, running from the 14th to the 16th. Readers can head on over to the official Great Escape festival website for more details. If you’re thinking of making the trip over, tickets are a reasonable £54.45 (AUD$103.36).
