Sydney’s favourite community station FBi Radio have announced the launch of Australia’s newest and coolest music festival. The inaugural SMAC (Sydney, music, arts and culture) Festival will take place this January and feature a stacked local lineup.

As part of Sydney Festival, SMAC will launch with a lineup featuring the likes of Cosmo’s Midnight, Vallis Alps, Dustin Tebbutt, Tuka, and many more, who’ll all be taking over much-loved Sydney venue Carriageworks.

Organisers are looking to offer punters a full cultural experience in addition to music. FBi will be utilising the multi-purpose Carriageworks space to showcase art and there’ll even be a mini-golf course and a dark rave cave.

Foodies will be catered to (no pun intended) with the culinary delight that is Molto Benet, a traditional Italian BBQ that comes courtesy of the one and only Donny Benet, who’ll also be pumping some Italo disco grooves.

SMAC Festival is an extension of FBi’s annual SMAC Awards and follows on from the station’s 10th Anniversary festival spectacular, which they held back in 2013 with sets from he Presets, Cloud Control, and Hermitude.

The SMAC Awards are set to return in 2015, with nominees to be announced next month and winners crowned on 12th January. Readers can check below for the full lineup, as well as all dates and ticketing details.
