The wheels appear to have fallen off Band of Horses as they gear up for a tour this month, with two of its five members quitting the band effective immediately.

Having joined the band in 2007, guitarist Tyler Ramsey and bassist Bill Reynolds have both announced their departure via social media, making their respective announcements within hours of each other.

Ramsey took to Instagram to detail his plans for a solo record, while Reynolds explained his desire to work on music production and photography, while leaving the door open for making music.

“We certainly had some good times and I’m sure I will miss the beautifully dysfunctional family we became,” said Ramsey, while Reynolds stated that he was “very grateful to have been a part of such an amazing band”.

Sole remaining founding member and vocalist Ben Bridwell will have to hurry to find replacements to join long-time drummer Creighton Barrett and keyboardist Ryan Monroe, with tour dates as early as the 18th of this month.
