Just a couple of weeks ago, it appeared that Beck’s new album was on the way thanks to a premature listing by an online retailer. Now, it seems that listing was correct, with Beck confirming that Colors is indeed dropping in October.

Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone, Beck confirmed that his thirteenth record, titled Colors, is set to be released in just two months. Beck also addressed the delay this record has faced, following promotional singles from his upcoming album being released as far back as 2015.

“I suppose the record could have come out a year or two ago,” he said. “But these are complex songs all trying to do two or three things at once. It’s not retro and not modern. To get everything to sit together so it doesn’t sound like a huge mess was quite an undertaking.”

Beck’s last studio effort, 2014’s Morning Phase, won him the Grammy award for Album Of The Year. Since then, he’s released a handful of singles, including ‘Dreams’, and ‘Wow’, but up until now, news of his new record was somewhat mysterious.

Hopefully it’ll only just be a matter of mere weeks before can hear another full-length from one of music’s most intriguing modern artists.
