It’s been a couple of years since Björk released Vulnicua, her eighth record that has been considered one of her best in years. Following a few weeks of speculation about new music, it seems that the Icelandic music legend’s newest record is set to arrive in just a couple of months.

According to The New York Times’ ‘Pop and Jazz Fall Preview’, Björk’s new, as-yet-untitled record is set to be released in November through One Little Indian Records.

“After the string-laden heartbreak of Vulnicura in 2015, Björk’s next album turns to hope, new love and a search for utopia,” the New York Times writes. “It’s an airy, full-length collaboration with her co-producer Arca, the Venezuelan musician with an ear for edgeless electronic sounds and jolting beats.”

Björk also recently spoke to Dazed Digital in which she claimed that her new record was about an never-ending search for contentment. “This is like my Tinder album,” she explained. “It’s about that search (for utopia) – and about being in love. Spending time with a person you enjoy is when the dream becomes real.”

Björk has also been active on social media lately, announcing that her new single, ‘The Gate’, is set to be released on September 18th. If you’re so inclined, you can also pre-order a single-sided 12″ vinyl edition of the new single as well.

It’s also been just over a year since the Icelandic muso was last in Australia, as she brought her Björk Digital exhibition to Vivid LIVE in 2016. While Aussie audiences didn’t exactly see the whole Björk concert experience they would have liked to, they did happen to see the lady herself performing a DJ set – something that is pretty rare in itself.

While we wait for Björk’s new record to drop in November, take a look back at her most recent single, 2011’s ‘Moon’, below.
