Sure, Blink-182 have released some pretty downcast tracks from time to time (and some of their recent output has been miserable in a different sense) but with this one, it’s really all in the name.

Taken from the upcoming deluxe edition of California, ‘Misery’ is one of the 11 new songs featured on the extended release, and it’s actually not as sad as you’d expect from the title, at least as far as the tempo is concerned. In terms of lyrics though, it’s a perfect emo anthem, anchored by the contrasting refrains of “misery loves company” and “I don’t need anyone”.

You can soak up all of those lyrics in the video below, while the deluxe California is out on May 19, including a colourful four-vinyl edition available to preorder now.
