Crowded House and Jet have joined the Bluesfest Byron Bay lineup. Well, not really, but both bands’ frontmen will be there.

Neil Finn is set to close out the festival on Monday, April 17 with his band. Best known for putting quiet New Zealand town Timaru on the map, surprise cameos at Coldplay concerts and I guess that ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ song, Finn’s last Australian run was nonother than his four sold-out Sydney Opera House Encore shows with Crowded House.

Solidifying Jet’s inevitable comeback following the band’s emotional reunion gig in Melbourne – and their signing to BMG – frontman Nic Cester has also joined the lineup. While he’s expected to perform Jet hits like ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Rollover DJ’, he’s been writing for his first solo album to be released this year, so we could be treated to a taste of that.

Bluesfest has also added soulful quartet Vintage Trouble, multimedia music project Playing For Change with Ellis Hall and Vasti Jackson, Melbourne’s REMI, country blues band The Wilson Pickers, bluegrass act Round Mountain Girls and The Australian Ukulele Show (TAUS).

The aforementioned join iconic acts like Jimmy Buffett, Santana, Patti Smith, The Doobie Brothers, Madness, Jethro Tull, Buddy Guy and Mary J Blige, as well as a new generation of artists like The Lumineers, Grammy-nominee Gallant, and plenty more.

It all goes down April 13 – 17, with 5, 3 and 1-day tickets and camping available from the Bluesfest website.
