The Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2013 is expanding and after huge demand in the ticket presale saw the first date in Perth sell out, Frontier Touring have announced the addition of a second show at Perth Arena on Saturday 8th February.

Tickets for the second Perth date will go on sale on Monday 26th August along with the general public sale for the rest of the dates on the Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2014, including dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, The Hunter Valley, and Brisbane.

Frontier Touring have also announced the return of Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello for next year’s tour in the lineup for the legendary E Street Band. Morello filled in for an absent Steve Van Zandt for the Bruce Springsteen Australian Tour 2013, which took place in April earlier this year. But Frontier adds that Morello will be on board next year along with Van Zandt – that’s right, two legendary guitarists together.

“Stevie Van Zandt and Tom Morello will be joining the 2014 tour which promises to be the most extensive tour of Australia and New Zealand to date,” Frontier Touring write in a statement issued this morning.

Perth and Adelaide fans will no doubt be jumping for joy after this year’s April visit from The Boss and The E Street Band neglected to check into South Australia or the WA capital, with promoters Frontier Touring even having to issue a formal apology to the snubbed states, while the tour became one of the biggest Australian tours of the year, raking in grosses of $25 million.

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s live show, voted by Rolling Stone as the best in the world, will see the band turning in three-hour marathon live shows drawing from Springsteen’s heroic back catalogue.

Continuing the ‘too good to be true’ vibe is that a reformed Hunters & Collectors will be supporting Springsteen at the Melbourne show at AAMI Stadium. It’s been 15 long years since the band officially disbanded, reuniting briefly in 2009 at the Sound Relief benefit concert in Melbourne, put together in part by Michael Gudinski, while Mushroom recently put together an all-star tribute album to the classic Aussie band, featuring covers by Paul Kelly, Neil Finn, Eddie Vedder, The Rubens, Something For Kate, and a rare remix from The Avalanches

An additional special guest at Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s Melbourne and Hunter Valley shows will be Australia’s favourite rock and roll soul man Dan Sultan. The Rubens will have the honour of sharing the stage with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band once more at their Hunter Valley show, after opening the show at their Hanging Rock performance earlier this year.

Don’t miss out on what is already pegged to be the biggest tour of 2014!
