Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have a duets album due out June 9, news which has obviously excited fans of Fleetwood Mac who were dismayed that Stevie Nicks has delayed Mac recording plans.

The pair have now released ‘In My World’, the lead single from the album. The song is a bouncy pop tune, sitting comfortably between the warm analogue sound of their classic Rumours, and the most produced work the band released in the ’80s. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie are the rhythm section too, so this is as close to classic Mac we’re likely to hear for sometime.

“We were exploring a creative process, and the identity of the project took on a life organically,” Buckingham explains of the album, which has been in the works since 2014. “The body of work felt like it was meant to be a duet album. We acknowledged that to each other on many occasions, and said to ourselves, ‘What took us so long?!'”

“We’ve always written well together, Lindsey and I,” says McVie, “and this has just spiralled into something really amazing that we’ve done between us.”
