If you’re a follower of trends, or are well-versed in what kids these days are up to, then the words ‘fidget spinner’ is probably going to make you jump for joy, or shudder at its mere mention. With kids all over the world obsessing over these nifty little ‘stress-relieving’ gadgets, it comes as little surprise that people are trying to capitalise on this fact, and brand them with the logos of well-known bands, albeit unofficially.

As Pitchfork reports, countless knock-off versions of these beloved gadgets are flooding online marketplaces, with variations with the logos from artists such as Aphex Twin, Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar, Radiohead, and many more available.

Likewise, Dangerous Minds has noted an influx of fidget spinners emblazoned with the logos of punk bans are also for sale, with acts such as Crass, Discharge, Dead Kennedys, and Minor Threat being given this dubious honour. Of course, these are all unofficial, with many music fans aware of Minor Threat frontman Ian MacKaye’s stance on merchandising. Considering MacKaye isn’t even a fan of releasing Minor Threat t-shirts, the chances of official fidget spinners are pretty low.

Additionally, Pitchfork have noted that a spokesperson for Aphex Twin has stated that these are currently unofficial and released without permission, while that supposed ‘rogue Twitter account’ acting on behalf of Arcade Fire has stated that these aren’t official, but official ones are on the way. We can only wait and see how popular the official Arcade Fire fidget spinner truly is.
