Chance the Rapper had a good night at the 59th Grammy awards, picking up his first award and three in total, but the props didn’t end there for the ascendant rap talent.

Having taken out ‘Best New Artist’, ‘Best Performance’ and ‘Best Rap Album’, Chance’s phone was no doubt blowing up like a Note 7, but he chose a couple of particularly big shout outs to share with fans – namely, Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick sent through a simple message of congratulations, knowing all too well what a Grammy win feels like after his multiple wins in 2016 and seemingly not as bitter as Frank Ocean is about To Pimp A Butterfly losing the ‘Best Album’ category to Taylor Swift’s 1989.

Big Brother 💯💯 @kendricklamar

His text from Kendrick was preceded by a similar congratulations from Drake, whose shoutout was a little more ‘beer with your bros’ than Kendrick’s slightly more poetic wording.

It was also reported by Complex that Kendrick dropped the unreleased Drake remix below at the Grammy’s afterparty, so perhaps he’ll be sharing something other than a shoutout from Drake very soon.

The only glimpse we’ve got of the remix is the little snippet below, but it would seem like a solid career move to ride the Grammys hype-train into a full-blown release with one of the world’s biggest artists, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled for this collab effort with his “broski” and hopefully more.

The night didn’t just earn Chance a stack of props and some shiny new awards for his mantlepiece, either. As The Fader reports, the win has resulted in a 200% spike in his overall Spotify streams, which were already going rather well to begin with.

Not only that, but his performance of Coloring Book‘s ‘How Great’ below saw the track receive a massive 461% boost on its own, demonstrating that, while the purpose and results of these major award shows are sometimes questionable, they still have the power to give a significant push to even the most major of artists.

After the dust had settled, Chance capped his win off with this fantastic illustration from The Bleacher Report and a shout out to his hometown of Chicago, to which he’ll be returning with a treasure trove of gold, a back sore from all the patting, and more fans than ever before.
