From the ominous shape looming over Nonagon Infinity, to the intricately-drawn details of Oddments, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have always been able to lay claim to some amazing looking album art.

Much of that credit goes to artist Jason Galea, who takes care of everything from album designs to the band’s equally-elaborate video clips, and this new video shows just how much time and effort it takes to craft one of his pieces.

200 hours or more, actually, according to a post made by the band showing off a sped-up version of his artistic process for upcoming album Murder Of The Universe, out this Friday June 23.

Of course, he’s had plenty of practice at this point. Aside from King Gizzard’s huge catalogue, he’s also worked with bands like Wolfmother, The Murlocs and Dorsal Fins, so he’s got plenty of incredible artwork under his belt.

Check out a master at work below, and give the rest of his stuff a look in his bulging portfolio.
