Chris Cornell spoke to Den of Geek, recently, who naturally quizzed him about all manner of things Soundgarden, including his nonchalance at being snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and the band’s 2017 recording plans.

Interestingly, Cornell confirmed that when it comes to Temple Of The Dog, last year’s successful reunion tour wasn’t a one-off, with the band keen to continue.

“It was really an amazing experience so I think we’re all motivated to do something again,” he said.

“The only obstacle really is the same one that’s always been there, which is that everybody’s always busy. So it literally has to be planned ahead by two years and that’s a hard thing to do.

“But it’s something that we definitely want to do. Whether it’s possibly doing some new songs or just getting out and playing more shows, maybe in other parts of the world we haven’t gone into, I don’t know. But everybody kind of wants to do something.”

Temple Of The Dog is made up of Cornell and Matt Cameron from Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard, Mile McCready and Jeff Ament.

They released one album in 1991: a tribute to Andrew Wood, Cornell’s roommate, and the frontman of Mother Love Bone which featured Ament and Gossard. Wood overdosed on heroin days before the debut Mother Love Bone album was due to be released.
