In case you’ve managed to somehow miss their album-plugging, Laneway-thrashing marketing campaign over the last few weeks, here’s the heads up: Dune Rats happen to have a record out, and it’s proving to be just a little bit popular.

As ARIA have reported, the Dunies look set to hit a new high (…yep) on the charts with their sophomore LP The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit, but the Brissy boys will have some stiff competition in the form of the debut album from Melbourne’s Ocean Grove, who (aside from being perhaps even louder than the raucous Dunies) have been racking up huge amounts of attention following their signing to UNFD.

Both records scored the massively-helpful triple j feature album nod in recent weeks, helping to cement them firmly in everyone’s ears, and apparently their music collections too. According to early sales figures reported by The Music, both records appear to be on-track to make it into the top three, most likely accompanied by last weeks’ number one – the soundtrack to animated flick Trolls.

We’re sure both bands would be stoked with a top three debut, and it’s just great to see two local bands battling it out for chart glory – let’s hope those bloody troll dolls just stay out of it.
