With Slipknot fans fanging for a follow up to 2014’s 5: The Gray Chapter, it was revealed by M. Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan in an interview with Metal Hammer, that he and fellow band members Jim Root and Jay Weinberg have “over 27 ideas ready to go – seven or eight of them are full songs.”

Although Corey Taylor wasn’t present for the chat, never being one to keep his mouth shut, he didn’t hold back when it came to responding.

Being the ever most sarcastic man in metal, Taylor has responded to the statements, saying in a chat with Loudwire when asked what he knows about new Slipknot tunes, “I have no idea,” he said. “I haven’t even heard any of this stuff. In true Slipknot fashion, I’m being told through the press that this is all going on.”

Even though the icon has yet to hear what the band’s new tunes are sounding like, he went on to say “I can guarantee you that it’s very creative, I can guarantee you that it’s dark.” We believe you Corey.

“I can guarantee you that it’s going to be unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. I know [Clown’s] mind, I know Jim [Root]’s mind. I just am really looking forward to hearing it when I’m allowed to hear it.”

2014’s The Gray Chapter was the band’s first album without longtime drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray
