Back in April, we went ahead and did some investigative work and discovered, much to our readers’ surprise, that Australian festival tickets are actually some of the cheapest in the world.

That said, there were a couple of appearances from Australian festivals on our list of The 14 Most Ridiculous VIP Music Festival Experiences You Can’t Afford.

But then June came and we discovered that none of those VIP packages can compare to that touted by Secret Solstice, an annual music festival held in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Their uber-VIP package is proudly billed as “the world’s most expensive festival ticket” and with a $200,000 price tag, there’s a good chance it is. So what do you get for your mortgage?

In addition to lunch inside of a volcano, you get first class return flights from anywhere on the planet for two people and a luxury five-bedroom villa in Reykjavík for five nights.

There’s helicopter transfers from almost everywhere, including to a private experience at the famed Blue Lagoon, your own personal assistants, and a private 100ft yacht party (including skeet shooting and golf).

Worth it? We’ll leave that up to the crazy millionaires to decide. But if you’re scoffing at all of the luxe inclusions and shaking your head at how overpriced it all is, we think we can go one better.

New Melbourne music festival The Bureau, which takes over the Sidney Myer Music Bowl this December, are boasting that they have what could be “the most expensive ticket to an Australian music festival”.

Considering it comes in at a steep $375,000, it could be the most expensive ticket to any music festival anywhere and, one might argue, the most overpriced Aussie music festival ticket ever.

“To put The Bureau’s VIP package in context, a flight into outer space with Virgin Galactic runs about $ 200k for a ticket.”

The Bureau’s $375,000 international guest experience doesn’t come with lunch inside of a volcano or even a yacht party. In fact, for a cheap publicity stunt, you’d think they’d go a bit more extreme with the inclusions.

A cool $375,000, will apparently get you flown in via private jet with 10 of your closest friends. You’ll be staying at the “luxurious” Crown Towers and will attend The Bureau with access to a VIP corporate marquee.

After the festival concludes, you and your guests will then be treated to “a luxury private premium booth at one of Melbourne’s hottest night clubs”, Ms. Collins.

You’ll be treated to an all-transfer inclusive trip during the weekend with luxury SUVs and Mercedes-Benz vans, as well as 24-hour concierge support by Global Concierge Service.

To conclude your experience, you’ll be taken on a scenic helicopter tour of the Yarra Valley, including lunch at Yering Station, along with a dinner at a premium Melbourne restaurant.

Before jetting back home, you and your 10 friends will enjoy a VIP shopping tour of an undisclosed shopping location and receive a premium cocktails package at Bond Bar.

That all sounds like a lot of fun, sure, but $375,000 worth of fun? Hardly. For that price, you could at least promise us a ride on a real live dinosaur or a trip back in time or something.

In fact, just to put The Bureau’s VIP package in context, a flight into outer freaking space with Virgin Galactic ran the first round of passengers about $200,000 each for a ticket. Step up your game, The Bureau.
