One of the most recognisable voices in country music, Loretta Lynn, was hosptalised on the weekend after suffering a stroke.

Emergency services were called to the 85-year-old ‘s home in the excellently-named Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

A statement posted to her Facebook explains she is “currently under medical care and is responsive and expected to make a full recovery.”
