Dappled Cities, one of Australia’s best loved indie rock staples, are set to mark the release of their brand new single, ‘That Sound’, with a rapid-fire tour of the East Coast this July.

The single is the first taste of new music from the band’s forthcoming fifth studio album, which is due out October 2016 and takes inspiration from the likes of David Bowie and Todd Rundgren.

“We found ourselves in Byron Bay making a fittingly relaxed and positive record, taking all that we love about weirdo indie rock and adding some of that sweet 70s good time vibes to it – mellow beats, plenty of cowbell, layers of harmonies – true splendour,” said vocalist Tim Derricourt.

To celebrate the release, the band will hit up the Northcote Social Club on Friday, 15th July and Oxford Art Factory on Saturday, 16th July. Tickets to these special launch shows are on sale now.
