You might recall that in 2010, there was talk of a new Them Crooked Vultures album. However, that never eventuated, and the group sort of faded away. Since then, news of the band’s reunion has been sparse, at best. Well, hold onto your hats, music fans, because Dave Grohl has let slip that a reunion may still be on the cards in the future.
In 2009, the world of rock music was set alight by news that there was a new supergroup in town. In fact, this supergroup was one of the most talented in years, featuring the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme, and John Paul Jones from a little band called Led Zeppelin. The group’s debut record took the world of rock music by storm, and their live shows were something to behold.
Now, eight years later in an interview with Beats 1, Grohl has admitted that there are still talks of a reunion. “We do talk about it,” he began. “Every once in a while, you’ll be up at night drinking a bottle of wine by yourself, and you’ll watch some Crooked Vultures live thing on YouTube and go, ‘We were so good!,” and then we’ll text each other saying, ‘Miss you man!'”
After the group’s plans for a second record stalled in 2011, the group’s members went back to their old tricks, and have been hard at work in other areas of the music industry.
At this stage, it looks like there could be a new Foo Fighters record on the way, after the group released a new single this week. With rumours that the group might be touring Australia later this year, and with QOTSA in town for Splendour In The Grass, who knows, maybe Grohl and Homme will cross paths and before you know it, we’ll be seeing a new Them Crooked Vultures LP.Write a Letter to the Editor
