We’re well into this year’s triple j Like A Version series now. We’ve already seen some superb performances, including a heart-wrenching David Bowie cover from Sarah Blasko and an ambitious mash-up from this year’s Hottest 100 winners.

Speaking of this year’s Hottest 100, today’s Like A Version performance comes courtesy of US pop star Halsey, who managed to get two entries into this year’s countdown, with ‘Hold Me Down’ coming in at #42 and ‘Ghost’ at #94.

What’s more, the New Jersey native lent her powerful pipes to a cover of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’. As some will recall, a mild controversy was ignited after triple j managed to avoid another #Tay4Hottest100 debacle involving the Biebs.

There’s no doubt this is certainly a catchy cover, the arrangement is elegant and Halsey’s vocals are top-notch, but is it just us or is there something odd about a pop star covering another pop star whilst wearing the T-shirt of another pop star… on triple j?
