With Gwen Stefani supposedly on top of her multiple duties as the mother to Gavin Rossdale’s child, the head of fashion label LAMB, and of course, her own solo career; the ‘Hollaback Girl’ and company have officially announced the release of a new No Doubt record through a video statement on their website.

The as-yet untitled album will be the band’s sixth studio LP and their first since 2001’s Rock Steady. Though last seen touring their greatest hits collection, the band have been offering teasers and photos from inside the recording studio as early as 2009.

Previous reports, including a picture on the band’s twitter account, revealed that Major Lazer, the collective banner of producers Diplo and Switch, have been involved in the recording process, on a track called ‘Push and Shove’. While, during a previous interview with NME, Stefani described the songwriting approach as “desperate,” with writing and preparation for the new record dating as far back as 2008, pre-dating Stefani’s pregnancy.

The band spent most of last year however, finishing sessions at the studio of legendary producer Mark ‘Spike’ Stent. His star-studded CV includes work with Madonna, Coldplay and Depeche Mode as well as having worked previously with No Doubt on  whose worked with the band previously as well as on Stefani’s solo debut.

An official statement issued through the ska-popster’s website adds: “Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We’re really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do. We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way!”
