Elliott Smith’s two major label albums — at least the two he released during his lifetime — have been reissued on vinyl today.

1998’s XO and 2000’s Figure 8 represent the point at which Smith’s recording budgets finally matched his widescreen vision, allowing him to build beautiful orchestral arrangements and sparse acoustic gems alike. Unlike the recent reissue of Either/Or, there are no rarities included,  just the original albums – which is fine, ‘cos they are damn good albums, and Smith fans have been treated to a deluge of rarities and unreleased tracks over the past decade.

The two records will be available in standard editions and special coloured vinyl versions, limited to only 500 copies.
