Sir Elton John left a lot of fans guessing when he announced he’d be playing cities like Wollongong for the first time on his upcoming 2017 tour, but didn’t announce any dates for Victorian fans. Now we know that he’ll be making his way to the state after all, as he announces a show in the Yarra Valley as part of festival tour A Day On The Green.

The show will be the last of his upcoming run in September/October, which will see him skip the usual touring locations in favour of less common spots like Mackay, Hobart and Cairns, an A Day On The Green promoter Michael Chugg says the extra date was added after the demand for Sir Elton to play a Victorian show became “too great to ignore”.

“The response when we went on sale was over the top,” he added. “A lot of people from the southern states did not get a chance to buy trips to Cairns or Mackay before the shows sold out. So when Elton asked to do a Victorian show we thought A Day On The Green was the perfect fit.”

The winery location will indeed fit in nicely with the rest of his run, and he’ll be joined by Busby Marou and Melbourne singer-songwriter Chris Watts – check out the ticket details below.

That the tour is happening at all comes as a relief following Elton’s brush with a “potentially deadly” bacterial infection several months ago, from which he seems to have thankfully fully recovered.
