Nick Cave is one of Australia’s most respected and celebrated musicians. Emma Louise is one of the most buzzed-about singer-songwriters to come up in the last five years. The two came together gloriously in this morning’s triple j Like A Version.

Louise hit the studios to lay down a subtly arranged cover of Cave’s iconic ‘Into My Arms’, from 1997’s poignant, heart-wrenching The Boatman’s Call, an album that is to this day looked upon as one of the singer’s crowning achievements.

Louise’s cover stays faithful to the mood and sentiment of Cave’s original composition, whilst updating the instrumentation. Louise’s understated vocals float over layers of synth, upright bass, guitar, and drums. Experience it for yourself below.

Not too long ago we ran through a few of our favourite Like A Version covers of the year so far, including Sarah Blasko’s incredible David Bowie cover, Guy Sebastian linking up with Paces, and Hey Geronimo mashing up Courtney Barnett and Regurgitator.
