Evan Dando’s two New Zealand shows were cancelled after the Lemonheads frontman was denied entry to the country.

Dando apparently missed a flight from Melbourne to Christchurch, before making a later plane only to be detained by Auckland immigration. He was in Australia last week, playing a run of three intimate shows (and hopefully penning a new Lemonheads record with Aussie Tom Morgan, too).

The promoter of the shows posted a message on Sunday morning saying, “tonight’s show has been cancelled due to the artist being refused entry to New Zealand at the border. We are not sure of all the details at this stage but regretfully have no choice but to cancel the show”.
