Already a favourite in his native UK, Australia is set to get its first taste of Matthew And The Atlas with ‘Another Way’, taken from the forthcoming debut album Other Rivers, and Tone Deaf has got an exclusive first listen of the new track, which happens to feature the talents of Australia’s very own blue-eyed soul crooner, Matt Corby.

Other Rivers, the first full-length release from Matthew And The Atlas is due in April with thanks to UK indie label Communion.

Both Communion and Matthew And The Atlas are two names in the music world that are very much intertwined; Matthew Hegarty (the man behind the moniker) has been making making music with the Communion folk since circa 2010.

Hegarty has already released two EPs of dreamy, textured Americana through Communion – marking the label’s first ever releases back in 2011, paving the way for artists like Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, Bear’s Den, as well as providing an international home for releases from Aussie artists such as The Trouble With Templeton, Gotye, Boy & Bear and Matt Corby.

‘Another Way’ draws from the talented Communion pool – featuring production from Kevin Jones of Bear’s Den and guest vocals from Hegarty’s good friend Matt Corby. The two Matts first met at an intimate show at Cafe Ravenous on London’s Portobello Road in 2011 and both went on to work closely with Communion.

Other Rivers is to be released in April.  Expect to hear Hegarty’s familiar and extraordinary low, gravelly rumble of a voice, but filtered through a more electronic and dramatic soundscape.
