Wave Racer is known for using some pretty distinctive sounds in his bouncy electronic compositions, so it doesn’t seem like a great idea to pinch one of his samples and use it in your own track, expecting nobody to notice.

Well, that seems to be what’s happened here, as Stoney Roads report that U.S. rapper Fetty Wap appears to have lifted heavily from Wave Racer’s 2013 remix of Flight Facilities’ ‘Stand Still’ featuring Micky Green.

The two tracks do share quite a similarity, and it certainly wouldn’t be the first or last time a U.S. artist has gone hunting overseas for some inspiration, apparently forgetting that the eyes (and ears) of the world are upon them.

Give the tracks a spin below and see what you think. Or, if you’ve got some decks handy, maybe have a mix between the two. We imagine they’ll go together quite nicely.

For now, we’re keeping an eye on you, Fetty Wap.
