Flume is killing it right now. He’s got the biggest electronic album in the US right now, he’s topping charts around the world, and his current global tour is a blockbuster affair that’s sure to net the young producer a nice chunk of change.

Some of that change has already gone to procuring the 24-year-old Harley Streten a shiny new Tesla, which he’s been spotted cruising around in on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. After all, what else do you expect a superstar EDM producer to be doing?

In fact, according to the latest issue of Rolling Stone Australia (via Pedestrian.tv), Flume’s success has put him in the same room as bonafide billionaires, including the inventor of his very automobile.

According to Rolling Stone, Streten was in Los Angeles hanging out with Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow. The two were finishing up a track when Wyatt invited Streten to join him for dinner at his friend Sean’s house.

Sean turned out to be Sean Parker, whom you may know as the multi-billionaire co-founder of Napster and the guy Justin Timberlake played in the Facebook movie. Streten and Wyatt eventually made their way to Parker’s house, located next door to the Playboy mansion.

Sitting outside the house was a charcoal-coloured Tesla, just like the one Streten owns. After commenting on it to Wyatt, a security guard informed Streten, “That’s actually not Mr. Parker’s car. It belongs to Elon Musk [Tesla CEO]. He’s in a meeting with Mr. Parker.”

“So Elon comes in, we get talking and he asks me if I have any ideas about improvements they could make to the Tesla,” recounts Streten. “It was unbelievable. And then Sean came out and we hung out and had drinks.”

“He showed me these 12 gold statues in the back of his house representing the animals of the Chinese zodiac. They were lit up by all these hovering drones. I woke up the next day and thought, ‘OK, this is insane.'”

No doubt it’s only a matter of time until Streten is investing in his own drone-lit golden statue setup.
