They’ve kept us guessing in the lead-up to the release of their new record Humanz, dropping a slew of surprising tracks all at once, and now the album promo moves into even stranger territory with the release of a ‘mixed reality’ app that promises to bring fans into the virtual band’s world for the first time – and

Using a mix of 360 degree virtual and augmented reality (the latter involving virtual overlays on top of the real world), the band are intending to tell new stories beyond the already-absorbing world they’ve built through music videos and an array of other media.

The app is an invitation to what the band call the ‘Humanz House Party’, a global listening event that will gather fans to 500 locations across the world for an exclusive listening session described as the “largest ever geo specific listening experience”.
