We’re loving the new ten-track EP from I OH You signing Green Buzzard, Space Man Rodeo, which follows the tale of a mysterious alter ego and space cowboy named Dewey Everglow – the alter-ego of frontman Pat harrowsmith.

The EP’s title track serves not only as the second single, but “the final transmission the Arcadian Space Control ever received from Dewey Everglow’s lost spaceship, the SMR-77”, and the tense number deals with themes of escapism, longing, and “the insecurities Dewey faced about what his dreams would ultimately make of him,” – as well as a dark portent of what we can expect from Earth’s near future.

While the single all sounds rather ominous, the record has turned out magnificently, and you can grab the new release from Green Buzzard here. You’ll also be able to catch Green Buzzard playing live at Bad Fridays (A Marrickville Block Paty) with DMA’S, The Jezabels, Royal Headache and more on Friday April 14 at the Railway Parade, Marrickville NSW.

To get more of an understanding of what makes this strange character tick, we’ve asked Green Buzzard to put together a Space Western soundtrack that Dewey would punch into the jukebox whenever he comes swaggering through that space saloon hatch.
