This has already been a pretty great year for Grinspoon fans, with their 30 date national tour celebrating the 20th anniversary debut LP Guide To Better Living making for some of the best rock gigs we’ve seen in Australia for years – and seeing the album actually rocket back up the charts to #8, its highest placement in its 20 year life.

Now, the first record they ever released is getting its moment in the sun; 1995’s self-titled EP (known by fans as the ‘Green’ Ep for obvious reasons) will be released on vinyl for the first time, and of course it’s coming pressed on a limited edition green 12″.

Meanwhile, an even more deluxe edition is also being released with five personally-signed 12” art prints, plus some snaps from the recent tour.

The EP was recorded and mixed at Grevilia Studios in Brisbane in just two days, and features an earlier version of ‘Sickfest’, which some may remember as the track that won the inaugural triple j Unearthed competition all the way back in 1995.

Also making an appearance is hidden track ‘Dr Grinspoon’, which the band say was “named after an Associate Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School who supported the medicinal use of marijuana” – of course, where the band got their name from.

Despite having already run all the way across the country on their tour earlier this year, Grinners are making the most of the year with sets at a bunch of festivals this summer – check out the dates below, and order your copy of the EP here ahead of its arrival on November 24.
