After years of animosity between band members, discussions of ‘Will they or won’t they?’, incessant rumours, and reports that Axl Rose is joining AC/DC, the reunion we thought would never happen went down in LA – Guns N’ Roses reunited on Saturday night.

Well, to put it more accurately Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan reunited on stage at legendary LA venue the Troubadour on Saturday night. As Consequence of Sound notes, it was the first time the three had shared the stage as Guns N’ Roses in 23 years.

The band’s set, which was seemingly free of dust-ups and/or on-stage meltdowns, was comprised mainly of the band’s iconic hits and covers, including ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, ‘Paradise City’, and ‘Live and Let Die’, and a few cuts from Chinese Democracy, which Slash and McKagan did not appear on.

The band was rounded out by Richard Fortus on rhythm guitar, Frank Ferrer on drums, Dizzy Reed on keys and percussion, and Melissa Reese on keys and effects. You can check out the entire setlist and fan-shot footage of the band performing ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ below.

Writing for LA Weekly, Art Tavana noted, “The band sounded tight… and I never detected a miscue or lyrical flub; Slash played some parts differently, but that’s just a testament to his willingness to experiment. And no new songs, which were rumored.”
