Slipknot’s Mick Thomson has revealed he underwent spinal surgery recently, making him the third member of the band to undergo the procedure since June.

“I recently joined the cyborg club” he wrote on Instagram. “Sore as fuck but I hope to be back to mid 2000s banging by our next record cycle.”

Corey Taylor started this trend, having spinal surgery in June, after breaking his neck “without realising it” – messing up the band’s plans to tour with Marilyn Manson.

Guitarist Jim Root then had spinal surgery in October, after fracturing a vertebrae.

The lesson seems to be to headbang in moderation.
