Big Pineapple festival has a pretty stacked lineup, but having hip hop champs Horrorshow drop out on them is still a big blow – except that they’ve already managed to lock in an ideal replacement in fellow rapper Urthboy.

Horrorshow’s Adit and MC Solo were apologetic to the Sunshine Coast festival and its punters in a statement, letting everyone know that they’ll instead have to jet off for some overseas commitments, and promising to make it up to everyone.

Horror of horrors, Big Pineapple HQ has received word of a no show: Horrorshow are unable to attend the Sunshine Coast bash due to travel commitments overseas. MCs Solo and Adit write in a statement:

“Our sincerest apologies to all those who were looking forward to partying with us at Big Pineapple Music Festival – we have had to cancel our appearance due to overseas touring opportunities in the USA! This isn’t a decision we made lightly – we looked at every possible option which would allow us to still play at the festival but in the end this is the call we had to make.

“We’d like to express our gratitude to the festival’s organisers for inviting us to play in the first place, and we look forward to returning to the Sunny Coast (one of our favourite parts of Australia) ASAP!”

Urthboy is in the middle of a tour for his new single ‘Crushing Hard’, so he was primed to jump into the freshly-vacant seat, expressing his love for the picturesque coastal location.

“We played a huge sold out show at Solbar last year and love playing on the Sunny Coast. It’s dope to come back for Big Pineapple!”
