It’s been over two decades since Ice-T’s rap/metal concoction Body Count have played on Australian turf, but with their new record Bloodlust out today, the group have announced a three-date tour this June.

Ticket sale dates are yet to be confirmed, but you can sign up to the waiting list to find out more as soon as they’ve been locked in.

“Music happens in climates,” Ice-T says about the impetus behind Bloodlust, a brutal response to the current socio-political climate that boasts contributions from Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, Sepultura’s Max Cavalera, and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe.

“Groups like Rage Against The Machine and Korn were born when the world was in turmoil, then music went into this delusional period where hip-hop became about nothing more than poppin’ bottles.

“Now we have impending doom again, racism is at an all-time high and it’s our season again. This is the optimal time for a Body Count record.”

You can grab the new album now, and vinyl collectors can pick up a special lilac-coloured vinyl edition from JB HiFi.
