Grammy shortlisted music duo Spare Pages have lent their musical skills to shine a light on Australia’s most disadvantaged young females.

The Illuminate Project is an initiative by SISTER2sister a charity that supports Australian teenage girls 12-18, at risk of abuse and/or neglect through a year-long, life-changing mentoring program, where the girls are teamed with ‘Big Sister’ role model to “inspire and motivate them to overcome adversity and achieve their life goals.”

The song ‘Illuminate’ was released last month and quickly shot to #2 on the iTunes chart. All proceeds from the song help fund the above initiative, so buy the song, and donate here.

SISTER2sister is the primary initiative of Life Changing Experiences: as their website explains, “it is an early intervention program that addresses the deeply entrenched inter-generational problems in our disadvantaged youth, and focuses on the core underlying issues, starting with the lack of a stable positive role model.

“The aim of the SISTER2sister program is to break the generational cycle of suffering by helping at risk teenage girls to make better choices for a positive future and to equip them with skills for mastering life’s challenges.”

It goes without saying that this is a vital service to an underserviced section of society, and well worth your support. Plus, it’s a great song, too. Check it out, below.
