The Future Music Festival 2014 set times have been revealed just in time for the event’s kick-off this Saturday.

Unfortunately however, the festival has lost one of its international artists owning to immigration issues.

This year’s festival, presented for the first time under the wing of Michael Gudinski’s Frontier Touring and Future, start at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds before taking its eclectic lineup of electronic acts, DJs, indie bands and more through Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide.

The Future Music Festival 2014 set times are pretty consistent across all five capital cities, with the two main stages presenting the biggest names on the bill.

In some disappointing news however, 2 Chainz has cancelled on his Future Music Festival appearance. A statement from organisers noting that “after long discussions and a lot of work on both sides on visa requirements, we’ve been regrettably advised that 2 Chainz is unable to travel to Australia at this time.”

It’s the second time immigration issues have grounded the American rapper from a visit Down Under. Visa problems over a pending court case canned his appearance at the inaugural Movement hip hop festival last year, one of the major issues that contributed to the Live Nation event being cancelled entirely. “After long discussions and a lot of work on both sides on visa requirements, we’ve been regrettably advised that 2 Chainz is unable to travel to Australia at this time.”

Today’s statement notes: “Both parties are disappointed – FMF HQ loves 2 Chainz, and can’t wait to get him down to Australia as soon as we can. But rest assured there are 47 international acts heading your way.”

That includes Grammy-winning hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis enjoy an afternoon slot on the titular Future Music stage, followed by Eric Prydz and the world’s #1 DJ, Hardwell. Dubstep superstar Deadmau5 closes the festival on the same main stage, which directly clashes with a set from French indie-pop foursome Phoenix over at the Safari! stage.

Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams – a late addition to the Future 2014 lineup – also performs on the main stag in the mid-afternoon, but only in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. The NERD/Neptunes producer-performer is missing the opening Brisbane and Perth legs owing to his attendance at The Academy Awards as a nominee in the Best Song Category; but he’s making up for it with headline sideshows (details at bottom).

The Future 2014 set times also brings the killer local lineup populating the Foamarama stage in each city, adding a combined 100 Aussie artists to the bill cross all five dates, including the likes of Throttle, Joel Fletcher, Tigerlily, Nick Galea, Matt Schoie, Tom Piper, Fabian Gray, plus a “few special guests” including indie electro favourite Cut Copy in selected cities.

Along with the set times, there’s also the Future Music Festival 2014 maps, showing off all the fancy layouts of the festival’s upgraded locations in Brisbane and Adelaide, plus the major renovations done to Sydney’s Randwick Racecourse.
