Justin Bieber is no stranger to controversy, and with a history of dividing the opinions of music fans the world over, people have been quick to call the young star a wide variety of disparaging names. However, it’s becoming clearer and clearer now that his fans have little to respect for the performer.

As News.com reports, Bieber, who is currently in the country on an Australian tour, was hassled by a fan whilst stepping out of a car in front of Melbourne’s Crown Casino. The fan, 20-year old Sarah Helal, rushed over to the 23-year old singer, intent on getting a photo with him. Bieber’s response to the fan was a reasonable statement of “You’re invading my privacy, I don’t want a photo.” However, when the determined fan began taking pictures of him, Bieber responded by saying “Look at you, you make me sick.” The incident was also recorded by an onlooker and quickly uploaded online.

Friday night even saw Adele come to the defence of Bieber, after receiving boos once she asked whether or not fans would be attending his show in Sydney on Wednesday. As Sky News reports, Adele was quick to respond to the fans, saying “If you started out at 12, you’d be like that too, okay!”

Dedicated fans would already be aware of the singer’s aversion to unsolicited photographs, having posted a message to fans on his Instagram account last year, in which he told fans he was “done taking pictures”. “It has gotten to the point where people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal” he wrote. “I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture. I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture. and people who say ”but I bought ur album” know that you got my album and you got what you paid for AN ALBUM! It doesn’t say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo.”

While we definitely understand that fans can be disappointed by the supposedly ‘selfish’ actions of Justin Bieber, fans definitely have to realise that they too are expected to act a certain way. As a human being, Bieber not only deserves appropriate levels of respect and admiration, but he also deserves to be able to be left alone when he wishes to be, regardless of his level of fame.
