Well, nobody expected Trump to make it in, so let’s just say stranger things have happened than US muso Kid Rock making it into elected office. Now, the rapper/singer might just be in contention for a seat in the U.S Senate, taking his collection of ridiculous-looking hats with him.

According to a report on Billboard, Kid Rock’s name has been brought up by the Michigan Republican Party when discussing potential challenger for sitting Democrat Debbie Stabenow when the seat heads to an election next year.

A noted supporter of Republican candidates in general, Billboard note that Kid (or Robert Richie as the electoral roll probably says) has been a staunch supporter of Trump’s campaign for years, even selling merch like the glorious example below through his online store:

The seat has been held pretty safely by the Democrats since 2000, but with the state going to Trump in the recent election, it could be primed to topple with the right candidate on board. With multiple charges over the years for various incidents over the years, including an assault on Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, could Kid Rock really be the name to wrest the seat from the Democrats’ grip?

He does have a loyal following among, you know, the people who still listen to Kid Rock, so who knows. Maybe next up we’ll see Jesse Hughes running for a seat in South Carolina – anything’s possible.
