King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are arguably the hardest working band in the country. With sold-out shows across the world, five records to be released this year, and immense critical acclaim for everything they do, you’d think by now they’d deserve a break, right? Not a chance.

After having already released their ninth record Microtonal Banana, and with their tenth, Murder Of The Universe set to be unleashed next month, the Victorian collective certainly aren’t ones to just sit on their hands. Instead, they took to Facebook this evening to announce to a legion of excited fans that their own mini-festival, Gizzfest, will be returning for its third edition later this year.

The inaugural Gizzfest in 2015 saw the prolific psychedelic group bring a stacked lineup to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane, with names like Drunk Mums, Destrends, Davey Lane, The Murlocs, Mangelwurzel, and more. Last year’s edition of the festival travelled around the same areas, bringing along bands such as Stonefield, ORB, Pond, and The Murlocs.

Judging by these previous lineups, Gizzfest 2017 will certainly be something you won’t want to miss. According to the group’s Facebook message, the festival will be taking place between November 18th and December 4th, so clear your calendars, and get ready for one rockin’ time.
