Melbourne rockers Kingswood have confirmed the departure of their longtime bassist, backing vocalist, and founding member Jeremy “Mango” Hunter. In a statement, the band indicated the split from Hunter was amicable.

“We write to inform you that Mango and Kingswood have parted ways,” the statement reads. “He is a tremendous man and we will cherish the many wonderful experiences and memories we have shared together. We wish him the best with all future endeavours.”

Hunter, affectionately known by fans and bandmates as Mango, founded Kingswood in 2005 with frontman and guitarist Fergus Linacre, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Alex Laska, and drummer Justin Debrincat.

Hunter appeared on Kingswood’s debut album, Microscopic Wars, which came out in 2014. The band have had the same lineup since their inception and it’s not clear who will be filling in on bass duties for the band’s upcoming gigs.

We’ll miss you, Mango. Best of luck with your future endeavours.

Dearest friends,We write to inform you that Mango and Kingswood have parted ways. He is a tremendous man and we will…
