Korn’s adidas repping, dred donning, kilt champ lead singer, Jonathan Davis, has taken to Facebook Live to announce the news of an upcoming solo album. This news comes just before the nu-metal forebearers make their way to Australia for the inaugural Download Festival in March, their first trip down under since Soundwave 2014.

According to the stream, the record has taken the ferocious vocalist “10 years” to make as he began working on the project in 2008. As announced during the stream, the project was originally supposed to see a release under the name ‘Jonathan Davis and the Simply Fucking Amazings’ however, since the passing of Shane Gibson (also of Korn) in 2014, Davis decided to drop the name.

“It’s the J.D.S.F.A. record, but J.D.S.F.A. is no longer. Unfortunately, since Shane’s passed, that band’s done and it can’t be recreated. So this is J.D. right now…”

“I’m really excited,” he continued. “I’ve been working on these songs for 10 years, and it’s turned out amazing. So there’ll be a record coming out next year. I just shot videos yesterday for a couple of songs, and the tour will be next year.”

Keeping busy as always, the legendary frontman and streetwear champ also spoke on the launch of his clothing company, ‘Somber One‘ which is currently accepting pre-orders for exclusive, collectors edition T-Shirts and Hoodies (consider copping one if your Korn merch has been through the ringer one too many times). Orders will also include a signed card from Davis himself, fueling the launch of the Spring 2018 collection.
