There’s a fair chance you were one of the countless fans who couldn’t contain their excitement when funk and soul legend Lionel Richie announced he was bringing his ‘All The Hits Tour’ to Australia back in June. Today though, there’s some good news and bad news coming to eager fans who had bought tickets.

Sadly, Lionel Richie has had to postpone his upcoming Aussie tour, which would have seen him play seven dates when he hit up the country later this month with Chic’s Nile Rodgers.

While this does mean that Lionel Richie won’t be visiting Australia in 2017, he has however announced some rescheduled dates for his tour, which will now take place over March and April. While new dates have been announced for most of the shows, including a brand new show in Canberra, Brisbane fans will have to stay tuned for what Richie is calling an “an exciting show announcement.”

Whether this means there will be extra goodies for Brisbane fans when he comes to their neck of the woods, or just that a rescheduled date is incoming is unclear, but either way, Brisbane fans are undoubtedly waiting rather anxiously to see what the show’s new details are.

While this does mean that Aussie fans are going to have to wait a little while longer to hear ‘All The Hits’ from Lionel Richie, we can definitely take solace in the fact that this is just a rescheduling and not a cancellation.
